Third Book Third Draft

Learning more about this craft as time goes on, I've now adopted a system for the redrafting process. This includes the 'technical draft' as I call it: the third draft, where I look at any potentially overused words (one early draft of my first novel featured the word 'terrible' 72 times) and iron out any other examples of excessive repetition.
You might say the technical draft is when the analytical part of my brain takes a turn. It's a laborious process, but I'm pleased to say, for Journey of Souls, it is now complete (and there are only 11 terribles).
It's back to the creative side for draft four though - it gets the final say!
