Serena carries on with her story, telling her wife, Tosh, about her continuing struggles in her previous life as Cindy, an innocent girl sent to the dreadful Dogger Reclamation Zone Rehabilitation Centre, wrongly convicted of a crime she didn't commit.

With Candy gone, Cindy finds herself taking her lover's place as the unofficial leader of a group of women banding together to help one another overcome the ever-shifting obstacles in their way. Each prisoner has a tragic story of her own to tell, and Cindy begins to understand earning her release from the hellish prison is about far more than her own personal freedom. Yet, sometimes she wonders if she'll ever get out, if she'll ever feel the warmth of the sun on her face again, ever have that victory of souls who finally make it to the outside.
