Crystal Ball
I gaze into the crystal ball
The thing that’s s’posed to tell it all
But all it shows is darker days
Unless our kind can mend its ways
For men of power pay no heed
To the billions lost in need
While greed and envy drive them on
Until at last our time is gone
And if we cannot banish hate
Extinction lies for us in wait
An end of days in pain and fear
With no-one left to shed a tear
I ask if yet there is still hope
A thread at least, if not a rope
The crystal says perhaps, may be
If we return to sanity
If love for all is held supreme
Reality not just a dream
But hurry to avoid your fate
Lest, for man, ‘twill be too late
